WHAT’S THE STORY

This story is about Sacramento Open Studios, an annual event put on by Verge Center for the Arts that showcases artists in their home studios and is open to the public. Artists from across the region participate over two weekends in September.

This story will highlight the second weekend of the show which is September 16/17. Weekend Two focuses on artist studios and galleries that are east of I-80/Hwy 99, plus all of Elk Grove and south. The Clay Art studio, featured in this story, will have LIVE demonstrations during the 16/17 weekend.

  • Verge Gallery: sponsored the open studios. A great place to start- gallery , and studios. Check out works by Gioia Fonda.
  • Elk Grove Fine Arts Center: an amazing artists co-op with lots to see. Darrci Robertson is showing some energetic ceramics.
  • ClayArtstudios814 814 Alhambra Blvd midtown. An amazing group of ceramics and hands on activities. Don’t miss William Peterson’s mid century style masterpieces.
  • Sacramento Fine Arts Center 5330 Gibons Dive Carmichael. A diverse group of artists including original jewelry.
  • The MACC 10191 Mills Station Road Rancho Cordova. A large group including photography and Glass works.
  • Sean Royal 6507 Markley way. Mixed Media and his breathtaking “Death Valley” series.
  • Brenda Louie 4084 Bridge Street #2 in fair oaks. She’s a well known Sacramento favorite.
  • Dania Lukey 5033 Olive oak way Carmichael. Fun and functional ceramics.
  • Linda Nunes 11063 Fiore Drive Rancho Cordova. Lovely encaustic works with a modern vibe.
  • Frankie Hansbearry 4210 2nd Ave Sacramento. Ceramics with a humorous twist.
  • Ronda Egan 1216 Toro Way Sacramento. Serene classic landscapes.
